User Registration Workflow
Four Pieces of Technology that Enable User Registration
The user registration workflow involves four pieces of technology:
- Request Processing Engine
- The software that executes the core workflow tasks (e.g., accept and process user requests, manage individual member program fees for delivering data at different spatial resolutions)
- Data Access Administration Database
- The database that stores the permissions for individual users and groups
- Data Access Administration Engine
- The software that queries, adds, deletes, and updates user permissions; the workhorse for both the online data access administration application and the request processing engine
- Online Data Access Administration
- The online application that allows member programs to control who has access to what parts of their data
